Move over 24. Hank Moody is back in the saddle

LoveFilm I love you.
Seriously. I thank you for providing some excellent high quality TV programming.
I might be several years out of date for missing the series when it originally aired, but the script writing for Califonication is just so refreshing, witty, intelligent and crass all at the same time. It has not dated what so ever.
I watched just 2 episodes this evening, as they are only 30mins each. Season 2 certainly sets the scene and see's Duchovny's Hank Moody back in the thick of it albeit with McElhone's Karen foolishing thinking she can and has changed his ways. The funny thing is that Hank is desperately trying not to bed every attractive LA female he bumps into, nor to smoke and in the end just be the family man.
However you can see the strain. The story threads will not let up on him and I'm sure he will falter if not just because it makes for interesting viewing and probably boosts the all important network viewing figures that most US TV stations (bar HBO) live and die by.
I hope the script writing is still sharp and as witty as the first season.
