God of War 3 - Has anyone got it?

I spent some time on Saturday perusing the God Of War website, downloading fan kits and watching new footage of the game. I am still in awe of the game.

Still no PS3 though to enjoy the game.

Please someone who has played the game give me so hope that it is worth the outlay of a PS3, HiDef TV and £50 on the game.

What was even more anoying was I walked past the Game shop in our local town to be confronted by a wall of God of War 3 boxes.

I get the impression though in the UK this game is not such a big deal as it is in the US? Is this really true.

I remember when I bought the first one, on the strength of ratings and how well it had done, no-one in the UK I spoke to had really ever heard of it. They were more concerned with the latest CoD chapter!!!

To me perhaps the reason I like it is that someone has had to dream up the concept and realise it on a computer and then deliver the world you interact in a cinematic way. The CoD games (love em) kind of I feel numb to it because it is almost real life albeit I am not a soldier. i.e. GoW series is fantasy, its executed brilliantly and it is a real pleasure to see someone else's vision of Greek mythology.

So back to pestering my better significant half that the whole PS3 rig is a priority versus a holiday with the kids. Something tells me I am fighting a loosing battle.

Especially with adverts like this

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Right I am off to get my latest hit on the trailer to subdue my needs.
