Dexter Season 3 UK Finale (minor spoiler)
Mon, July 20, 2009 at 19:06 Walked straight into that one!!!!
Before I go any further the story background of Dexter is about a blood splatter expert named Dexter Morgan) who is with the Miami police department. Using his knowledge and access he decides to satisfy his lust for killing by killing criminals who have not been caught by the normal justice system.
I had piled up several episodes of "Dexter" season 3 on my Sky+ box and managed to find an evening with a spare few hours with the wife to watch these episodes. If its a good series of something it usually means that we will watch multiple episodes back to back.
So with this in mind we go about watching the 2-3 episodes I have, when suddenly Dexter is getting married and walking down the isle. Then the credits scroll past. Nah this cannot be true. This is not the end episode of Dexter. Surely not.
I madly switch to the sky programmer and see that there is not further episodes of Dexter set.
Bugger. What am I going to do?
Ah well another great series comes to an end.
What I like about Dexter is that it is edgy, with lots dark humour, the actors have been chosen perfectly and play the parts so well that you just believe them. Who ever cast Jimmy Smits in this season was a genius as he adds major weight to the plot line throughout the series and plays the part of the district attorney with aplomb.
What also made this season interesting is that in real life Michael C. Hall recently married Jennifer Carpenter who plays Dexter's sister. So I spent the time looking for any additional on screen chemistry. Did I see any, if I did it was disguised as the sister/brother love relationship.
The other weird thing about Dexter is that you bypass completely the fact that you are actually on the side of a serial killer. You are actually wanting Dexter to succeed.
